Final Year Project

Project Title

The Future of Karachi: A Palimpsest City

Description

Rise of religious and nationalistic sentiments and the consequences faced by the physical remnants of a non-state, non-Islamic entity. My thesis looks at the built heritage of Karachi from the colonial era. It aims to uncover the reasons for its deterioration and the lack of interest from the government and the people. To this end, my research also attempts to bridge the gap between the government and the people by asking the people relevant questions regarding these structures and the future they see for them.
